Hey, it is May!!! May is one of my favourite months of the year: Flowers, weather, sunshine most of the day, fresh veggies, and mine and Kodi’s anniversary! Since it is a new month, I am not only going to share what is in season, but I have compiled a few of my favourite recipes using those ingredients from a few of my favourite bloggers, but I also compiled a list of my favourite places to shop for local, fresh and low waste items. Let’s get started.

What is in Season for May?

Living on the west coast, I am so fortunate to generally have access to fresh produce sooner than the rest of Canada. Out here, we tend to get our last frost earlier what means a longer growing season overall. Here is what is available for May:

My Favourite Places to Shop Local and Low Waste:

As promised, I have included a list of my favourite places to shop. Most of these places are small businesses, or family run, some I have a bias towards as I work there, but before I worked there, I thought they were excellent. I am not affiliated in any way these are solely my favourite places to shop!

Country Farms Market

Vancouver Farmers Market

FISH

Nada

Soap Dispensary

Fresh Street Market

Bulk Barn
